APOLLO-RIDGE: Students welcome assistant principal
SPRING CHURCH -- We have many different changes going on in Apollo-Ridge Elementary School. One of the most important changes is our new assistant principal, Courtney Anderson. She is always in a good mood and is always kind to us.
She told us that she is "Over-the-moon excited to join the Apollo-Ridge staff." She earned her undergraduate degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Education degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
She then received principal certification from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
Anderson grew up in Plum Borough with her mom, dad and sister Nicole. She is a soccer mom. Her two sons, Maddox and Owen, play soccer. She likes to scrapbook, along with shopping and having dinner with her husband.
Anderson also likes to watch the Steelers and Penguins in her free time.
Anderson has always wanted to become a principal. She enjoys being able to help kids who need help. It is also important to her to make kids feel good about themselves.
Anderson says she is very impressed with all she has seen at Apollo-Ridge Elementary School, but her plan is to make the students here more successful at reading. She also hopes, in her role, to make school a better place for all students and staff members.
She wants to create a place where students can feel confident with who they are.
