CLYMER — On Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon, the senior class of Calvary Baptist Academy held the Dodge Drive for Kids, sponsored by Tri-Star Chrysler Motors in Indiana.

This was a very good way for the senior class to raise money, as they received $20 for every person who test-drove a car and filled out a questionnaire. Tri-Star brought four new vehicles — a Dart, Durango, Journey and Caravan — out to the school to be driven.

In addition to the Drive for Kids, the seniors held a pancake breakfast for the drivers and their families. Many people enjoyed the meal of pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee, and showed their appreciation by donating money to the senior class.

Both the Drive for Kids and the pancake breakfast were successful fundraisers, as the senior class raised over $3,000.

The senior class appreciates everyone who made this day a great success.

In school this Wednesday, the PSAT test was administered to the 11th-grade students; the sophomores were given the PLAN test on the same day. These tests were a great start and a guide to help the students to plan for the future. These academic tools also help the students plan and prepare for the college and career of their choice.

Of course, choosing the right college or career is one of the most important choices one must make in life, so the PSAT and PLAN tests are in essence preparing the students for life.
