HARMONY: 'Seussical!' offers colorful characters
WESTOVER — Lights, Camera, Seuss! Come to the Harmony Drama Department’s production of “Seussical!” The musical will be performed tonight and Saturday at 7 p.m., and on Sunday at 2 p.m.
“Seussical,” filled with its colorful characters and catchy music, will surely transport you to the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss!
In the story of “Seussical,” Jojo, a young boy with a wild imagination, finds a rather peculiar hat, much like the one the cat wears from “The Cat in the Hat.”
The Cat appears, and whisks Jojo into the story of “Horton Hears a Who.” Horton hears a faint cry for help coming from a dust speck. In the Jungle of Nool, no one believes his story and they think he’s crazy for talking to a speck of dust.
Jojo, who lives on that little speck of dust, has gotten into many predicaments. After much discussion, the Mayor of Whoville and his wife, who are also Jojo’s parents, decide to do the practical thing of sending Jojo to military school.
What will happen to Horton and Jojo? You’ll have to come to the show to find out.
The cast and crew are under the direction of Armond Walter, with assistants Amie Breth and Jason Boring. The tech crew has been assisted by Craig Sneath and Dawn Wolfe. The production’s choreographer is Anita Lorek, owner of Le Dance Academie.
Tickets are $5 for general admission.
The Harmony Music Boosters will have concessions and a raffle to support the music program at Harmony. Come and let your imagination run free during “Seussical!”
