WESTOVER — The Harmony High School student council is preparing for its annual winter ball, which will be held on Feb. 1. This year’s theme will be Sweet Escape.

The student council has already started assembling decorations, including lollipop trees and colored Christmas trees. Each member has been asked to bring cookies or candy to contribute to the candy bar. Tickets are on sale until Wednesday, and the price is $10 for a single or $15 for a couple. All of the money will benefit the student council.

The drama department has also been hard at work getting ready for their production of “Little Shop of Horrors.” Seymour, a florist assistant, works at a boring flower shop on skid row but becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers a new species of plant that has an appetite for human blood.

Soon, “Audrey II” promises Seymour fame and fortune, but all doesn’t go as planned.

The cast started practices this past week for the show, which will take place on March 14, 15 and 16.

Tech crew sign-ups have also gone up and the search is on for an Audrey II plant puppet.
