It’s been a busy week at the Indiana County Technology Center as the ninth-grade showcase tours wrapped up.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, ICTC welcomed more than 789 ninth-grade students from six schools —Homer-Center, Purchase Line, Blairsville, Saltsburg, Indiana and United.

These students toured each of the 14 ICTC program areas where they were presented with detailed program information and participated in fun hands-on activities.

This provided a unique opportunity for ICTC to “showcase” the various programs while demonstrating the importance and value of the ICTC and career readiness to ninth-grade students.

In an effort to further promote enrollment into a career program at our school, the ICTC provided each ninth-grade student with a ticket for a chance to win an iPad.

In order to qualify for a chance to win, students must enroll in one of the ICTC programs for next school year.

Ninth-graders who sign up to shadow an ICTC program will receive another ticket, increasing their odds of winning. Students are encouraged to bring their parents and friends to career night from 6 to 8 pm on Jan. 29 at the ICTC to further explore areas of interest.
