MARION CENTER: Art students show their talents
MARION CENTER — Bringing to life the high school lobby, Marion Center Area High School’s talented art students have recently showcased their works in the annual Acrylic Painting Exhibit — Juried Show.
All of the students participating showed exceptional talent in their works. Those participating in the show were part of Catherine Paterson’s painting classes.

The winners of the show are as follows: Brittany Smith, a junior, won best of show for her painting titled “Through a Hero’s Eyes”; Casey Yaworski, a freshman, took first place for her painting titled “A Whole New World”; Amanda Baker, a senior, took second place with her painting titled “Rico Raccoon”; and Taya Whitfield, a freshman, placed third with her painting titled “Maxx.”
The students’ paintings are on display through Sunday at the Youth Arts Celebration K-12 Arts Exhibit at the Indiana Mall. The exhibit is being organized by the Indiana Arts Council.
The YAC is an opportunity for students’ artwork to be showcased and enjoyed. Students from all Indiana County schools were invited to participate.
