MARION CENTER: Pottery students helping the hungry
MARION CENTER — Over the past few weeks, Catherine Paterson’s Pottery II classes at Marion Center Area High School have been crafting bowls for the annual Empty Bowl Fundraiser to be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at The Artists Hand Gallery, 732 Philadelphia St., Indiana.
The money raised will benefit the Indiana County Food Bank.

For $15, customers can to choose their own handcrafted bowl filled with homemade soup and served with bread and a dessert, and they will be helping to fight to hunger in the area.
All 20 pottery students are donating at least two personally handcrafted bowls for the fundraiser. Bowls are donated each year by local potters, Indiana University of Pennsylvania potters and Marion Center pottery students. Last year, the fundraiser raised more than $3,000 for the food bank.
