UNITED: Two eighth-grade students honored
ARMAGH — The Eighth Grade Pride award is given out each month to eighth-grade students in the United School District who are well-rounded individuals, who work hard in class and who have an overall positive attitude. All winners have their picture displayed on the bulletin board in the junior high.
The selected eighth-graders for the month of March are Taylor Duplin and Dominic Lamb.
When asked how she felt about being selected, Taylor stated that she felt “good.”
Taylor is involved with soccer and basketball.
Amy Shellhammer, junior high social studies teacher, said that she has had “the pleasure of having Taylor two years in a row. She is a great student and wonderful choice for Eighth Grade Pride. I wish I had a whole class full of Taylors.”
When asked how he felt about being selected, Dominic agreed that he felt “good.”
Dominic is involved in football and basketball. Outside of school he is an avid hunter and fisherman.
John Dunn, junior high English teacher, said that “Dominic is quiet and reserved in school but competitive during sports. He has a different personality on the field, and he plays with a lot of heart.”
Congratulations go out to these special students.
