Preparations are underway for the eighth annual InFirst Bank Veterans Marathon. Last year’s race brought in $20,000 for local veterans.

The amount raised since the event was established totals more than $100,000.

Proceeds from the race were donated to the nonprofit Western Pennsylvania Veterans Relief Fund. WPVRF provides financial relief and service to veterans throughout western Pennsylvania.

This year’s race will be held Nov. 3 at Saylor Park in Black Lick. It consists of a full marathon, half marathon and relay race. The InFirst Bank Veterans Marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

More information about the race and how to register can be found at veterans-marathon.com.
