Annabell Mikesell Auen, 93, of Blairsville, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, in her home surrounded by her family.
The daughter of Augustus B. Mikesell and Lucretia (Mahan) Mikesell, she was born in Livermore on May 8, 1926.
She was a graduate of Saltsburg High School, Class of 1943. She was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Blairsville. She was a former choir member and Sunday school teacher and secretary of the Women’s Society at church.
She enjoyed writing poems and stories. She also enjoyed walking her dogs.
Annabell is survived by daughters Sherry Alicea (Jose), of Blairsville; and Linda Armendariz (Grant), of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren Debbie Palmer, Ashley Armendariz, Melanie Paddock and Lindsey Armendariz; and great-grandson Chad Dickson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl E. Auen, in 2007; a daughter, Mary Lou Auen; infant son Billy Auen; granddaughter Paula Dickson; grandson Todd Palmer; sister Iola Auen; stepsister Gladys Short; and stepbrother Glenn Lewis.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday in the Shoemaker Funeral Home Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with the Rev. John L. Buchman officiating.
Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairs-ville.
