Beatrice T. McDonald, 94, formerly of Dover, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at the home of her daughter in Eldersburg, Md.
Born Aug. 1, 1924, on a farm near Livermore, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Podolan) Tirdel.
Mrs. McDonald was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Harold McDonald, who died in 2011.
She had worked for many years as a market research manager for Control Data in Laurel, Md., and in her retirement years enjoyed working in Gettysburg for the Hall of Presidents and the Jennie Wade House. Mrs. McDonald was an excellent cook, loved the arts, tended to her garden and liked working on her computer.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Salony, of Eldersburg; her son, Richard McDonald, of Plymouth, Mass.; four grandchildren: Jason Salony, of Eldersburg; John Salony and wife Julie, of Huntersville, N.C.; Lydia Robertson, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Denene Ortiz, of Bessemer City, N.C.; seven great-grandchildren: Kai Salony, Jack Salony, Owen Salony, Charlotte Jeurgens, Emma Ray, Caitlyn Ray and Maddy Ray; a sister, Audrey Holtz, of Jekyll Island, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Rosella Mae Shaeffer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
