Edna L. Duffy, 89, of Northern Cambria, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at her home.
The daughter of Robert L. and Mary E. (Dukes) Davis, she was born on May 30, 1930, in Cherry Tree.
Edna married Lawrence E. Duffy in 1955 and they shared 39 years of marriage until his death on Feb. 17, 1994.
She loved her family time and was fondly referred to as “the rock” of her family. She was known as everybody’s “Grandma” and all were welcomed in her home. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
Edna is survived by her six children: Edna E. Gindlesperger, of Brockway; Donna M. Hendricks, of Colver; Nancy J. Piper, of Clymer; Gordon L. Duffy and Deborah A. Duffy, both of Northern Cambria; and Beverly A. Duffy, of DuBois; her two stepsons, Raymond E. Duffy, of Josephine; and Carl E. Duffy, of Ohio; her sister Kathleen Bailey, of Spangler; sisters-in-law Alice Davis and Shirley Davis, both of Cherry Tree; and numerous grandchildren and great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son Lester E. Duffy; her stepson Leo L. Duffy; her four sisters, Mary Wetzel, Eleanor Davis, Ruth Stein and Sarah Sinclair; and her seven brothers, Robert L., John J., Arthur, Ellsworth, William, Kenneth and Thomas Davis.
Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd. in Hillsdale, where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be held on Tuesday.
Pastor Ray Hill will officiate. Interment will be at the McDowell Cemetery in Clymer.
