Frances Rushnok, 81, of Ashland, Ohio (formerly of Valparaiso, Ind.) passed away on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019.
Fran was born on Oct. 5, 1937, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Francis and Adele (Walker) Cooper. She grew up in nearby Blasdell and graduated from Frontier Central High School in 1956. She married Edward Rushnok on Sept. 2, 1967, in Buffalo.
Fran worked at Valparaiso University School of Law from 1980 to 1990. Later, she earned a paralegal degree, turning her lifelong interest in law into a new career. After Ed retired, they moved to Sumter, S.C., where she earned her real estate license and became a realtor. They moved to Ashland, Ohio, in 2006, where she volunteered with the Ashland County Cancer Association.
Fran is survived by son Raymond (Tracey) Rushnok, of Lacrosse, Ind.; daughter Rebecca (Jeffrey) Cameron, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by Ed on Aug. 15, 2015; her parents, and brothers Edward, Patrick and Michael.
Services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home in Clymer, with calling one hour prior. Interment will immediately follow at St. Michael’s Greek Orthodox Church Cemetery.
