Gregory L. Black, 54, of Homer City, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, as the result of a vehicle accident in Crawford County.
He was born on Thursday, Jan. 9, 1964, in Indiana.
He had attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Homer City.
Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing and dirt track car races. He was a former truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Tammy (Capelle) Black, Homer City; mother, Janice Murphy and husband Robert, Homer City; daughters: Shawna Hastings and husband Daniel, Roanoke, Va.; Ashley Fairbanks, Brush Valley; Chelsea Capelle and fianc￩ Damon Shanner, Coral; and Amanda Capelle and fianc￩ Nicholas Short, Lucernemines; brothers John Black, Indiana; and Jeff Black, Homer City; sisters Beth Ann Lawson and husband Matthew, Indiana; and Stacie Sleasman and husband Joseph, Blairsville; eight grandchildren: Morgan, Brayden, Evrick, Conner, Noah, Rilyn, Lily and Shalyn; and mother- and father-in-law, Catherine and Butch Elliott, Homer City.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Black Sr.; grandmother Elsie McAdoo; and aunt Lydia Rothrock.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., Blairsville. Funeral services will immediately follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor John Ditter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
