Diane Fako, 76, of Indiana, died Thursday, May 28, 2020, peacefully at her home.
She was born in 1943 in Indiana to Bernard Cunningham and Merva Sherrick Cunningham.
She went to Keith School, was a graduate of Indiana Area Senior High School and earned her associate’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Diane worked at The Indiana Gazette, ICM School of Business, Pitney Bowes and Mailing Systems of PA before she retired in 2003.
Diane was an avid golfer. She loved to travel the world, going on cruises and to the beach with friends and family. She enjoyed bowling and playing bingo, Mahjong, bridge and billiards. In her free time, she liked to read on her Kindle, crochet and sew. She was also a member of the Indiana Elks Auxiliary and served as an officer on the executive board.
Diane loved her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, known as “Gaga” by her grandchildren. She always looked forward to holiday celebrations and Sunday dinners. She especially enjoyed the companionship provided by her fur babies over the years: Spike, Rembrandt, Kit and Buddy.
Beautiful on the inside and out, Diane had a great sense of humor and was fiercely loyal, direct, intelligent, quick-witted, genuine and a great leader. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
