Merrett C. Adams, 90, of Marion Center, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, at his home.
The son of Merle and Ruth (Putt) Adams, he was born Oct. 5, 1929, in Indiana.
Merrett worked as a heavy equipment operator all his life. He enjoyed family
most but also had great interest in farming, woodworking and working canvas with his wife, Verna Jean.
He is survived by his seven children: Patricia Adams, of Home; Linda Wolfe and husband Rodney, of Marion Center; Timothy Adams and wife Susie, of Indiana; Rodger Adams, of Easley, S.C.; Robert Adams and significant other Emily Aikens, of Plumville; Cathy Fleming and significant other Danny Henry, of Marion Center; and Melissa Adams, of Marion Center.
Merrett is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Verna Jean Adams; two sons, (infant) Scott Brian Adams and LCP Samuel Charles Adams; two grandsons, infant, Chodwick Eugene Adams and Thomas Eugene Jodon Sr.; a great-great-granddaughter, infant Ruthie Boozel; two sisters; and five brothers.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. with his service to follow at 4 p.m. at the McCabe-Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St., Clymer. Interment will be private for the family.
