Shari Lynn Kohan, 47, of Westwood, died Friday, July 13, 2018.
Born Nov. 20, 1970, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of Thomas and Jean (Caputo) Kohan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas; paternal grandparents, George and Anna Kohan; and maternal grandparents, Frank and Dorothy Caputo.
She is survived by her loving mother, Jean; siblings: Karen, wife of Jerry Ambrose; Thomas, married to Aimee (Torraca); Kathy Kohan; Lori, wife of Jeff Mack; and David, married to Cathy (Russell). She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Zack (Ian Krebs); Joel (Zach Miller); Jonah Ambrose; Sasha, Bartleby and Anya Kohan; and Marley Kohan; her aunt, Sylvia Vane; and numerous cousins.
Shari was a 1988 graduate of Blairsville High School and a 1992 graduate of Penn State University.
Shari worked in archeology, was the owner of Natural Touch Massage and, most recently, was a nurse’s aide at Westmont Woods.
She was an adventurous spirit, always learning and joyously sharing it with others.
Her many passions included kayaking, skiing, Native American culture, animals, the environment, Lynn Swann, Omar Moreno, all the Pittsburgh sports teams and Penn State football. Shari’s biggest passion was family, especially organizing and continuing the traditions of the Kohan family reunions that were started by her dad in 1976.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John Gaulbert Cathedral, with the Very Rev. James F. Crookston officiating. Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Geistown.
