Susan Irene (Dunlap) Cunkelman, 88, of Homer City, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Beacon Ridge, Indiana.
A daughter of Elmer and Emma (Laughlin) Dunlap, she was born Oct. 2, 1930, in Blairsville.
Mrs. Cunkelman was a member of Jacksonville Presbyterian Church, Kent, where she was a ruling elder and served as clerk of session for many years, and a member of Blairsville Chapter No. 166, Order of the Eastern Star.
She graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1948. She prepared food for Whitey’s Lunch Stand and was a bookkeeper for their family owned business, Truck Parts Unlimited.
She was a terrific pie baker.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Oliver Albert Cunkelman, whom she married Dec. 15, 1950; four children: Donna Rich, of Palm City, Fla.; David O. Cunkelman (Teresa), of Murrysville; Debora Stupic (Raymond), of Penn Run; and Darrell Cunkelman (Kimberlee), of Blairsville; five grandchildren: Meghan Hodde, Ty Hoza, Lauren Cunkelman, John Stupic and Clayton Stupic; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Craig Rich; two brothers, D. Alex Dunlap and Donald Dunlap; and a sister, Jennie Kellerman.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Shoemaker Funeral Home Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville.
A funeral service with the Rev. Richard Cassel will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jacksonville Presbyterian Church.
Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
