Letter to Editor 11

On May 1, 2019, our family tragically lost a member of our family. Mason McCauley was loved by all who knew him.

The family wishes to thank the entire community whose kindness has helped us through this devastating event. We wish to thank the first responders and state police who have the hardest job of all.

We want to thank all of Mason’s friends and classmates and their families, the teachers and staff of our entire school district for the emotional support and donations collected for the family.

We thank The Indiana Gazette for the coverage of events, the Rustic Lodge for the meal they provided following the funeral services, the 700 Shop for donating the tuxedo he wore, the proceeds from Indiana Ink from the tattoos his friends and teammates had done in his honor.

A special thank you to Lonnie and Devon Beatty at D&L Cycles for helping Mason’s friends to finish rebuilding his motorcycle as a tribute to their friend.

We would like to thank CORE for handling the organ donation process with great care and kindness.

The outpouring of support from everyone who knew Mason, and even some who did not, has brought us comfort.

It makes us proud to say “he was ours and we loved him.”

In memory of this wonderful young man, be kind to one another.

Thank you.

The family of Mason McCauley
