Indiana wins youth hockey match

PITTSBURGH — Indiana defeated the host Steel City Ice Renegades, 5-3, in an Indiana Youth Hockey Association match on Monday.

Tyler Umbleby scored a pair of goals and dished out an assist to lead the Indians. Tanner Agnello scored once and had an assist, Tanner Agnello and Vinny Sherry each scored once, and Alex Nanni, Zach Eisenhower, Ian Bertuzzi and Joey Semetkoskey each had an assist.

Nanni had 20 saves.

• BEAVER — Indiana tied host Beaver, 3-3, in a match played late last week.

Tanner Agnello had a goal and an assist to lead the Indians. Tyler Umbleby and Jack Cikowski each added a goal, and Noah Bauman, CJ Selfridge and Joey Semetkoskey each had an assist.

Evan Montgomery made 23 saves.

IUP to hold Teddy Bear Toss

The IUP hockey team will hold a Teddy Bear Toss and youth hockey night when the Crimson Hawks play host to West Virginia on Friday, Dec. 6.

The game will be played at S&T Bank Arena at 8:10 p.m.

All youth players who are wearing a team jersey will be admitted for free.

The team asks fans to bring a new stuffed animal to throw onto the ice when the Crimson Hawks score their first goal of the game.

All stuffed animals will be donated to the IRMC Pediatric Unit.

Clymer splits rifle matches

CLYMER — Clymer split an Olympic-style Allegheny Valley Rifle League match with visiting Butler on Sunday.

Clymer lost the A match, 1,165-1,154, and won the B match, 1,141-1,140.

Lily Palfrey led the A team with a 291. She was followed by David Huang with a 290, Tom Hemphill with a 287 and Hannah Baker with a 286.

Drew Rado and Sadie Palfrey each shot a 286 for the B team. Maggie Palfrey had a 285 and Gary Boone had a 284.

Clymer and Butler are tied atop the team standings at 10-2. Fort Hand is second at 5.5-6.5, and Murrysville is fourth at 0.5-11.5.
