Blairsville pounded Apollo, 17-4, in an Indiana County League baseball game Sunday at West Lebanon’s Bertolino Park.
The Colts then traveled to Indiana and beat Spaghetti Benders, 8-5, in ICL/Indiana Area Baseball Boosters game at the White Township Recreation Complex.
Against Apollo, Blairsville sent 11 batters to the plate in the opening inning and scored six runs. The game was stopped after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Blairsville’s Joe Culler and David Doak each went 4-for-4 and drove in three runs apiece. Ben Doak, Jordan Truscott, Scott Harsh and Mike Fennell each had two of the Colts’ 18 hits. Harsh drove in four runs, and Truscott knocked in three. Harsh and Ben Doak hit home runs. Two of David Doak’s hits were doubles.
Matt Hogue picked up the win, allowing four hits and one run in four innings. He struck out four and walked one.
Against Spaghetti Benders, Harsh picked up the win and Matt Bashioum recorded the save.
Truscott and Harsh each had two hits.
Blairsville plays host to West Lebanon on Thursday at WyoTech Park.
Apollo plays at West Lebanon this evening. Apollo is playing all of its home games at West Lebanon due to COVID-19 restrictions at its home field at Apollo-Ridge High School.
