It happened 60 years ago, but it will come back to life on Thursday.
Game 7 of the 1960 World Series between the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Yankees will be broadcast on radio station WCCS-AM 1160 at 1 p.m. Thursday. The station can also be heard on the FM dial at 101.3.
In the wake of the coronavirus, the Pirates Radio Network has made the broadcast available to its media partners.
Spoiler alert: The Pirates’ Bill Mazeroski hit a game-winning solo home run in the ninth inning of a 10-9 victory, the first time a winner-take-all World Series game ended in such fashion.
It was the Pirates’ third World Series title and first since 1925.
