PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP — Indiana beat Carmichaels, 10-0 in five innings, in the Little League 12U girls softball state tournament on Wednesday.

Indiana, in the losers’ bracket after falling to South Williamsport, 9-8, on Tuesday’s opening day, rode Jayla Peterson’s no-hitter to a victory in the second game. She struck out 11 in a game shortened by the 10-run mercy rule.

Indiana jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning, with Ella Myers providing the highlight with a bases-clearing double.

Haley Hamilton went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Addie Stossel chipped in a run-scoring single, and Julia Antonacci scored two runs.

Indiana was scheduled to play another elimination game today.
