IUP’s Kimberly Kelly, Lizzi Clemmer and Emma Wilhelm have been named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference field hockey team.
Kelly was a second-team selection while Clemmer and Wilhelm each landed on the third team. Kelly and Clemmer are two of the 12 midfielders honored across the three teams while Wilhelm is one of 12 all-league defensive players.
Kelly started all 18 games, finished in a tie for second on the team with four assists and had 12 shots on goal for the season. The senior was also IUP’s starter on 101 penalty corners.
Clemmer was IUP’s fourth-leading scorer and highest scoring midfielder with seven points on three goals and an assist. Her three goals were tied for third on the team while her 17 shots on goal were fourth. The junior 18-game starter had the game-winning goal in the 2-1 overtime win at Bloomsburg.
Wilhelm was the only IUP freshman to start all 18 games. She played a key role for a defense that posted five shutout wins and allowed just one goal in six others. Wilhelm had an assist in the win over Seton Hill and a defensive save at Shippensburg.
IUP finished the season with a 9-9 overall record and 4-6 mark in the PSAC.
