Pittsburgh players and coaches will visit Indiana on Wednesday as part of the annual Pirates CARE-a-van.
The Pirates are schedule to make two stops in Indiana between 3 and 8 p.m.
The first stop is scheduled for 3 to 5 p.m. at the YMCA of Indiana County, 60 N. Ben Franklin Road, where the Pirates will present a $20,500 check, alongside partner PNC, as part of the 2019 Fields for Kids matching grant program. The grant will be used to upgrade three fields for the more than 1,750 boys and girls served by the YMCA. In addition, Pirates celebrities will join youth in a game of Wiffle ball and serve snacks.
The second stop is set for 6 to 8 p.m. at IUP’s Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex, where the Pirates will join team radio partner Renda Broadcasting for a public event that will include games and autographs and a contribution benefiting the Teddy Bear Fund Drive.
Pirates players Blake Cederlind, Guillermo Heredia and Bryan Reynolds are scheduled to be joined by coaches Glenn Sherlock and Don Kelly.
