Twenty-two football players from the 10 Heritage Conference schools will play in the Ken Lantzy Finest Forty All-Star Classic.
The game will be played Friday, June 14, at 7 p.m. at Johnstown High School.
Five players from two schools are members of the South team: Homer-Center’s Logan Williams, Trevor Mlakar and TJ Tagliati and Penns Manor’s Tommy Hamilton and Matt Somogyi.
The North roster has the bulk of the local players, with 17 coming from eight schools: Blairsville’s Adam Ratkus; Ligonier Valley’s Aaron Tutino, Zach Beitel, John Caldwell and Blake Bridge; Marion Center’s Zack Hicks; Northern Cambria’s Mark Marino, Ben Vasil and Nick Sifford; Purchase Line’s Quinn Scalese; Saltsburg’s Dylan Cindric and Garret Carr; United’s Mason Muir, Marc McCullough, Joe Turek and Austin Rose; and West Shamokin’s Brendan Mondi.
The South coaching staff under head coach Kevin Marabito of United consists of Brett Marabito and Sean Mack of United, Roger Beitel and Scott Lewandowski of Ligonier Valley at Matt Falisec of Purchase Line.
Preparation for the game begins Sunday evening following a picnic for the teams and their families at Peoples Natural Gas Park in Altoona and check-in at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where the players are housed for the week.
Practice continues Monday through Wednesday, and a banquet is set for Wednesday evening at Sunnehanna Country Club. Thursday is an off day.
