APOLLO — Apollo-Ridge jumped on Summit Academy for three quick touchdowns and scored a 34-6 victory in a WPIAL Class 2A Allegheny Conference football game Friday night in the Vikings’ home opener at Owens field.
Apollo-Ridge (2-0) took a 21-0 lead behind junior quarterback Jake Fello, who threw touchdown passes and rushed for two more.
He opened the scoring with an 8-yard run, hit Keighton Reese for a 10-yard score and then dashed another 10 yards for a touchdown.
Fello connected with Cam Bush for 37 yards and Klay Fitzroy for 320 yards on scoring played in the second half.
Fello finished 9-for-12 for 172 yards. Logan Harmon rushed for 72 yards on 14 carries. Jacob Mull made all four of the extra-point kicks he attempted.
Apollo-Ridge total 283 yards and held Summit Academy (0-2) to 110. Fello and Nick Curci had interceptions.
Apollo-Ridge plays host to Carlynton on Friday.
